FAQs
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
1
Many people are unsure whether they "need" therapy or whether their difficulties are significant enough to seek support. You do not need to be in crisis or have a diagnosis to benefit from therapy. If you are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or finding that emotional difficulties are affecting your wellbeing, relationships or daily life, therapy can provide a safe space to better understand your experiences and work towards meaningful change.
What happens after I get in touch?
2
Once you contact us, we will arrange an initial consultation with the clinician who is best suited to your needs. This first meeting is an opportunity to explore what has brought you to therapy, discuss your goals, and consider whether we are the right fit for you. Together, we will decide on the most appropriate next steps.
What difficulties do you work with?
3
Our clinicians support adults experiencing a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties, including trauma, PTSD, Complex PTSD, anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive difficulties (OCD), relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, emotional regulation difficulties, and the lasting impact of adverse or overwhelming life experiences.
Is everything I tell you confidential?
4
Yes. Everything discussed in therapy is treated confidentially in accordance with professional and ethical guidelines. There are some rare circumstances where confidentiality may need to be broken, such as if there are serious concerns about someone's safety. If this ever became necessary, we would usually discuss it with you first wherever possible.
How long does therapy last?
There is no fixed length of therapy. Some people benefit from a brief course of focused treatment, while others find longer-term therapy more helpful, particularly when working through complex or longstanding difficulties. We will discuss this together and review your progress regularly throughout therapy.
5
What are your fees?
Our fees vary depending on the clinician and the type of appointment. Please take a look at each clinician’s bio to find their fees.
6
What types of therapy do you offer?
7
Our clinicians are trained in a range of evidence-based psychological therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Schema Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and other integrative approaches.
Rather than fitting you into a particular model, we work collaboratively to develop an approach that is tailored to your individual needs and goals.
What if I'm not sure what's wrong?
8
You do not need to have a clear understanding of your difficulties before seeking support. Many people come to therapy simply knowing that something doesn't feel right. Together, we will take time to understand your experiences, develop a shared understanding of what may be contributing to your difficulties, and consider how therapy can help.
How do I choose the right therapist?
9
Choosing a therapist is an important decision, and it is completely normal to feel unsure. We are happy to discuss your needs and help match you with the clinician whose experience and approach are most suited to what you are looking for.
Simply get in touch via our contact form or email. We will respond as soon as possible to discuss your needs, answer any questions, and help you arrange an initial consultation.
